Proxy/Cache Migration

EUnet--as the first commercial provider in Austria--has moved to new caching software on dedicated hardware. With that our customers experience better average response times when they work with the web.

As such, we are cooperating with our EUnet partners in others countries, universities and some local providers. The overall cache load is distributed among the partners reducing the international traffic and improving the response times.

The purported performance in various news groups led some individuals which are (currently) not our customers to configure our proxy for their browser. Note, that this is not only bad style, it also causes damage to EUnet customers and the networking community as a whole.

If you would like to experience better performance with your current provider ask it to join the Austria proxy/cache system.
